The Last Breath Trailer

“I just wanna get out of here!” 🦈 RLJE Films has revealed the official trailer for yet another shark movie called The Last Breath, this one made by Swedish filmmaker Joachim Hedén. This one is about a group of divers who get trapped in a shipwreck, only to discover sharks are out to get them once they’re in there. A group of old college friends reunite on a Caribbean scuba diving trip and end up exploring the wreckage of a WWII battleship and find themselves trapped inside the underwater labyrinth of rusted metal surrounded by great white sharks. Starring Kim Spearman, Jack Parr, Alex Arnold, Erin Mullen, Arlo Carter, and Julian Sands. How many shark movies can they make?! 2024 has already had plenty so far – there’s: Under Paris, Something in the Water, and No Way Up. Director Joachim Hedén’s other recent film is the underwater diving thriller Breaking Surface (2020) – which won two Swedish Film Awards and was recently remade in the English language as The Dive last year. If you’re still into diving or shark horror – have at it.

The Last Breath Poster

Finding the long-lost wreck of the warship USS Charlotte has been the lifelong pursuit of Levi (Julian Sands), an aging expat running a tourist dive business in the British Virgin Islands together with recent college dropout Noah (Jack Parr). When the USS Charlotte emerges for the first time in 80 years after a tropical storm, Noah’s friends visiting the island insist for them all to do a once-in-a-lifetime dive on the newly discovered wreck. Their dream dive rapidly turns into a real nightmare as they become trapped in the darkness of the Charlotte’s interior, 30 meters down and with a dwindling air supply… And then they discover that they are not alone. The Last Breath is directed by underwater filmmaker Joachim Hedén, director of the movies New York Waiting, Framily, and also Breaking Surface previously. The screenplay is written by Nick Saltrese. Produced by Andrew Prendergast and Chris Reed. RLJE Films will debut Hedén’s The Last Breath in select US theaters + on VOD starting on July 26th, 2024 this summer. Look any good?
