“It was important for me to sing and play on set because it was in the spirit of the movie to do it live.” Searchlight Pictures has revealed a new behind-the-scenes featurette for the film A Complete Unknown, opening in theaters this December. We also featured the official trailer a few weeks ago as they begin their big marketing push for the release. The film is about the early days of maestro musician Bob Dylan’s life. At the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, a young Bob Dylan shakes up his act on the folk music scene by going electric and siring rock as the voice of a generation – defining one of the most transformative moments in 20th century music. Timothée Chalamet stars as a young Bob Dylan in this film written and directed by James Mangold, coming off of his work on the Indiana Jones movie. It also stars Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, plus Dan Fogler, Norbert Leo Butz, & Scoot McNairy as Woody Guthrie. This featurette reveals how Chalamet performed live guitar, vocals, and even harmonica solos in the film. Still think it looks quite good.
