“Ready to get your dance on?” Netflix has revealed the official trailer for The Merry Gentlemen, another holiday romcom streaming release coming up this year. Netflix is really going all out trying to become the new Hallmark Channel with some of the most exceptionally schlocky yet entertaining holiday comedies – we already posted the trailer for Hot Frosty this week. Now there’s this, too. “Santa’s dancing his way into our hearts a little early this year. And who’s that driving his sleigh? Why, it’s Britt Robertson and Chad Michael Murray, stars of The Merry Gentlemen, a new rom-com heating things up this holiday season. You’ll be able to unwrap this particular gift on Nov. 20th –– as the trailer reveals, this sizzling Christmas entertainment is worth waiting for.” What an intro. 🎄 To save her parents’ small-town performing venue, a former big-city dancer decides to stage an all-male, Christmas-themed revue. Starring Robertson & Murray, with Marla Sokoloff, Beth Broderick, Michael Gross, Maxwell Caulfield, Hector David Jr., Colt Prattes, Marc Anthony Samuel. So it’s just Magic Mike but as a holiday romcom instead? Sure, why not.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Peter Sullivan’s The Merry Gentlemen, direct from YouTube:
“A little sizzle could save the season.” To save the Rhythm Room, her parents’ small-town performing arts venue, a former big-city dancer stages an all-male, Christmas-themed revue. Britt Robertson plays Ashley who “decides to take her skill as a dancer & choreographer and marry that with some hot dudes at the bar to make The Merry Gentlemen show. She may or may not save the bar.” The Merry Gentlemen is directed by American producer / filmmaker Peter Sullivan, director of the films Game Over, The Sandman, Cucuy: The Boogeyman, Jingle Belle, Secret Obsession, Fatal Affair, and Break In, plus tons of holiday comedies + TV movies including A Cozy Christmas Inn, Trapped in the Farmhouse, Secrets in the Desert, Silent Night Fatal Night, and Killer Fortune Teller most recently. The screenplay is written by Marla Sokoloff. Produced by Jeffrey Schenck, Barry Barnholtz, Brian Nolan, and Peter Sullivan. Netflix will debut this fun The Merry Gentlemen holiday comedy streaming on Netflix starting on November 20th, 2024 this fall. Interested?
