A Chainsaw Man Film Is on the Way, in Lieu of a Second Season
Fans have been eager for more Chainsaw Man content ever since season one, and, thankfully, their wishes will soon come true. At the 2024 Jump Festa event, an exciting project was revealed, shocking fans of the series. A film is currently in the works, entitled Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, much to the delight of eager viewers anticipating the next on-screen installment of the popular action shonen. This movie will take the place of a traditional season two, covering the manga’s Bomb Girl Arc in movie format instead. Reze Arc will cover from chapter #40 to chapter #52 of the manga.
Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc’s Release Date Has Not Been Confirmed
There Is No Official Release Date at This Time, Only Speculation
Much to the dismay of the fandom, there is no current official release date or window for Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc at this time. However, much speculation surrounds the incredibly anticipated film. Many of these guesses are based on MAPPA’s past release schedules. Jujutsu Kaisen season one was released in October 2020, and the feature film, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, came around 2 years later, in March 2022. Based on this information, since Chainsaw Man’s first season came out in October 2022, the Reze Arc film may have a late 2024 or early 2025 release date, although this is purely speculation.
MAPPA has been very busy lately with truly ambitious and time-consuming projects, like Attack on Titan’s fourth and final season that aired November 2023 and Jujutsu Kaisen’s second season that aired July 2023 to December 2023. Both of these new releases concluded fairly recently, so it is reasonable that it may be quite a while before Reze Arc hits screens. However, looking at past release schedules provides hope that perhaps the film will come sometime in the next year or two to offer fans an all-new look into the world of Chainsaw Man after over two years.
